- Calendar access
What’s free, and what does the unlock cost?
Divisible is free to download, and your first week is free: this phone’s first real week, not the example. Everything in it is free, from tasks and choices to The split, separate phones, busy times, and Calendar. It isn’t a timer, so setting it up can take as long as it takes, and you can change it freely until it’s in Calendar.
Starting another week needs one purchase, Plan Every Week: $9.99 in the US, or the price shown in your country’s App Store. It’s paid once, with no subscription, and Family Sharing covers everyone in the purchaser’s family. With separate phones, only one of you needs it: start the next week on the phone that has it, and it reaches the other phone too.
How do I restore my purchase?
Tap Restore purchase in the unlock sheet, or in People & settings, where it’s shown until every week is unlocked. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase. Family members are unlocked too; if a family member’s device isn’t yet, Restore purchase on that device checks again. A purchase waiting for Ask to Buy approval unlocks every week as soon as it’s approved.
Does deleting and reinstalling reset the free week?
No. Divisible remembers the free week in the keychain, which stays when the app is deleted, and iCloud Keychain syncs it to your other devices. Deleting the app does delete the week saved on that device.
How do we each answer on our own phone?
- On the first phone, open People & settings, then Answer on separate phones, and choose Set up on this phone.
- Choose the calendar you’ll share. A shared iCloud calendar works best, and Divisible can create a “Divisible” calendar for you. Then pick who uses this phone.
- Share that calendar with your partner in the Calendar app: tap Calendars, then the ⓘ next to the calendar, then Add Person.
- Once they’ve accepted the invitation, they open Divisible on the second phone, then People & settings, Answer on separate phones, and Join a week shared with me.
Each phone then answers and approves only for its own person, and both phones see the same split. Separate phones need full calendar access on both phones.
How do I block off busy times?
In People & settings, open Plan around busy times and choose the calendars Divisible should read: usually your shared calendar, plus a personal one, like Work, that counts for just one of you.
Then add an event for when you can’t take on tasks, and start its title with a name to block just that person, like “Sam: Late shift” or “[Alex] Gym”. An event without a name blocks both of you. All-day events block the whole day, and events set to show as Free never block.
When a task lands on someone’s busy time, the other person gets it, and The split lists it under Busy times, where you can keep it there anyway.
Why does Divisible ask for calendar access?
To add your tasks, Divisible asks only for write-only access, which lets it add events without seeing your appointments. Separate phones and busy times need full access, which is requested only when you turn them on. You can change it in Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars.
Once a week’s tasks are in Calendar, Divisible keeps that plan as it is, so it can’t drift from your calendar. Edit those events in Calendar, or start a new week from People & settings.
